Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa will give the opening keynote at CES 2027, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) has announced, taking the stage at 8:30 a.m. PST on Wednesday, January 6, 2027. The carmaker, whose 14 automotive brands include Jeep, plans to use the slot to unveil new vehicles and software platforms. The booking puts a traditional automaker at the front of a CES that the CTA says will have its largest mobility presence ever.
What was announced?
The CTA confirmed on September 8 that Filosa will deliver a keynote on the show’s opening day. His session follows the CTA’s annual State of the Industry Address and takes place in the Palazzo Ballroom at the Venetian in Las Vegas.
According to the CTA, the keynote will show how Stellantis is applying technology to make mobility “smarter and more personal,” with new vehicle and software reveals backed by live demonstrations. Stellantis will also run an exhibit at booth 4518 in the West Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center, the hall CES dedicates to vehicle technology.
Filosa summed up the company’s pitch in the announcement: “Our ambition is simple: use technology to make mobility more personal.”
CTA president and CEO Kinsey Fabrizio said the association was “thrilled to welcome Stellantis and Antonio Filosa” to the keynote stage.
Who is Antonio Filosa?
Filosa has spent more than 25 years in the automotive industry, the CTA says, including leading the Jeep brand and running Stellantis’s operations in North and South America. Argentine outlet Cultura Geek, citing a Stellantis statement, reports that he joined Fiat in 1999, ran the company’s Betim plant in Brazil, led Fiat Chrysler in Argentina from 2016, and became Stellantis’s global CEO on June 23, 2025.
CES 2027 will be his first CES keynote as head of the group, which oversees 14 automotive brands.
Why it matters
CES has gradually turned into one of the world’s most important car shows, as vehicles become software platforms with AI assistants, driver assistance systems and connected services. Opening the keynote programme gives Stellantis a high-profile platform at a time when automakers are under pressure to prove they can compete with technology-first rivals on software.
The CTA is leaning into that shift. In a November 2 announcement in Detroit, it said CES 2027 will feature more than 350,000 square feet of vehicle tech exhibits, the largest mobility footprint in the show’s history. Exhibitors named include Stellantis, BMW, Ford, Kia, Geely Auto, Bosch, Valeo, Aptiv, John Deere, Uber and Waymo. CES 2026 drew more than 15,000 mobility industry attendees, 60% of them senior executives, according to the CTA.
CTA executive chair Gary Shapiro called it “the most impressive lineup of mobility innovators I’ve ever seen.”
What else is on the mobility agenda?
The CTA has outlined several mobility conference tracks for CES 2027:
- Connect2Car (January 6): six sessions, including one on agentic AI and accountability inside the vehicle
- Vehicle Tech and Advanced Mobility (January 7): seven sessions, including a panel on robotaxi business models
- Resilient Communities (January 8): sessions on smarter cities and micromobility
A Mobility Stage presented by Bosch will run during the show. Waymo co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana is also confirmed as a keynote speaker.
