Slush, the Helsinki startup conference that bills itself as the largest gathering of venture capital in Europe, takes place on November 18 and 19, 2026, at the Messukeskus exhibition centre. More than 12,000 founders, investors and ecosystem players are expected, and organisers say three in four attendees are either building a startup or funding one. This year’s edition is framed around the theme “Radical Resilience,” according to The Recursive.

When and where is Slush 2026?

The main event runs across two days, Wednesday and Thursday, at Messukeskus, Helsinki’s main convention centre at Messuaukio 1. The City of Helsinki’s MyHelsinki events guide lists the same dates and venue.

A Day 0 programme on Tuesday, November 17, opens the week. The Recursive reports that it includes “Founder Dawn” workshops and an Investor Day, and the wider Slush Week calendar adds hundreds of community-run side events across the city.

How big is Slush?

Slush publishes the following figures on its website for the 2026 edition:

  • More than 12,000 attendees
  • More than 200 speakers
  • More than 600 side events
  • Startups from more than 70 countries and over 50 industries
  • 76% of attendees are startups or investors
  • More than 80% of attendees come from the Nordics, the UK, the DACH region, France and Benelux, Central and Eastern Europe, and Southern Europe

The organisers also highlight the amount of capital in the room, citing roughly €4 trillion in assets under management among attending investors. Slush says its meeting tool enables tens of thousands of pre-booked meetings over the two days; The Recursive puts the number at more than 20,000 double-opt-in meetings in 48 hours.

Slush began in 2008 as a gathering of around 250 people, according to The Recursive.

Who is speaking?

The Recursive lists four headline names for this year:

  • Vlad Tenev, co-founder of Robinhood
  • Luciana Lixandru, general partner at Sequoia Capital
  • Markus Villig, founder and CEO of Bolt
  • Anton Osika, founder of Lovable

The speaker lineup on Slush’s own homepage is still labelled as its 2025 roster, so more 2026 names are likely to be confirmed closer to the event. Slush has long avoided traditional keynote formats in favour of practical, founder-focused sessions; The Recursive summarises the approach in Slush’s own words: “We don’t do ‘keynotes.’ We do company-building.”

What is new in 2026?

Slush has expanded its attendee platform, which now bundles the meeting tool with an activity planner, the stage programme, team collaboration features, two-way calendar sync and an indoor map of the venue. The Slush 100 pitch competition returns, as does the official afterparty.

The Recursive notes a focus on “DeepTech for Good” within the “Radical Resilience” theme, along with Helsinki traditions such as a sauna village and a Day 0 ice dip in the Baltic Sea.

Ticket tiers on the Slush website range from €395 for a two-day startup pass to €1,195 for investor and ecosystem passes. At the time of writing, the site marked those tiers as sold out.

Why it matters

Slush has become the main European meeting point between early-stage founders and international investors, and its timing at the end of the year often sets the tone for fundraising in the months that follow. The heavy investor presence matters in a market where large rounds are increasingly concentrated in AI; companies such as fal, which recently raised $1.3 billion at a $16 billion valuation, show how much capital is flowing to the category.

For European founders who could not travel to San Francisco for Disrupt in October, Slush is the most concentrated chance of the year to meet a large number of venture firms in person.

What happens next

Slush follows Web Summit in Lisbon (November 9–12) by a week, bookending the European autumn conference season. Further speaker announcements are expected before doors open on November 18.
